ROBOTio

Fourier GR-3

The "Care-bot" from Shanghai-based Fourier — 165 cm, 71 kg, 55 degrees of freedom, a soft upholstered shell and 31 touch sensors for care, rehabilitation and companionship.

What it would mean for your event

Where GR-3 would make sense

Healthcare and social-care congresses, eldercare presentations, medical technology exhibitions — wherever care and touch are the theme.

What we can offer instead today

Our G1 welcomes guests, converses in 13 languages and poses for photos; for healthcare audiences we have a MedTech Europe-compliant format ready (programme as a technology demonstration, not entertainment).

Purchase advice

For a facility that wants to deploy GR-3 we verify availability, service and EU compliance and provide operator training at ROBOTio Academy.

Availability at ROBOTio

Fourier GR-3: ROBOTio does not currently hire out or sell this model. Fourier sells to businesses and institutions via resellers; official EU distribution and service are not confirmed. Looking for a robot for a corporate event? See the Unitree G1 and H2 from our event fleet — we help you choose the model and plan its role in the programme.

Manufacturer: Fourier (Shanghai Fourier Intelligence)

Fourier was founded in 2015 in Shanghai as a maker of rehabilitation robots and exoskeletons — its rehab products are used by more than 2,000 institutions in 40 countries. Founder and CEO Gu Jie (Alex Gu). It entered humanoids with GR-1 (2023), GR-2 (2024) and the open-source N1 (2025). Investors: SoftBank Vision Fund 2 (Series D), Prosperity7 (Saudi Aramco), IDG Capital, Guoxin (Series E of about RMB 800M, 2025); roughly 600 employees.

History and generations

GR-1 (2023, 165 cm, 55 kg, 100+ units delivered) → GR-2 (September 2024, 175 cm, 63 kg, 53 DoF, FSA 2.0 actuators) → GR-3 shown at WAIC in July 2025, launched 6 August 2025, presale 8 September 2025, deliveries from October 2025; GR-3C variant shown 24 September 2025; US debut at CES in January 2026. Compared with GR-2, GR-3 is shorter but heavier (soft shell and two batteries), has 55 instead of 53 DoF and three hours of runtime instead of two.

ROBOTio's view

We follow GR-3 for healthcare and social-care facilities. For care deployments, EU service and certification are essential and the maker has not published them yet. At congresses and events with a healthcare audience we deploy the Unitree G1 today with a programme that follows industry rules.

Frequently asked questions about Fourier GR-3

Can Fourier GR-3 be hired for an event?
No, GR-3 is not in our fleet. At events we deploy the Unitree G1 and H2, which play the same role — welcoming, conversation, photos, a show.
How much does GR-3 cost?
Fourier has not published an official price; at launch the press wrote of more than CNY 200,000 and resellers outside China quote much higher figures. The price must be requested from the manufacturer or a distributor.
Is GR-3 available in Europe?
It is sold to businesses, primarily in China; there is no official EU distribution or service network yet. We are happy to verify the current status for a specific project.
How does GR-3 differ from GR-2?
GR-3 is the care model: shorter (165 cm), soft shell, 31 touch sensors, eye displays, 55 DoF and 3 h of runtime. GR-2 (175 cm, 53 DoF) targets research and industry.
Does GR-3 speak my language?
The robot uses language models; support for specific languages in production depends on the integration. Our own robots speak 13 languages at events.
How does GR-3 sense touch?
It has 31 touch and pressure sensors on the head and torso; it reacts to a stroke, a tap or a hug — the core of its care focus.
