FAQ

Which companies provide robots for schools and classroom teaching?
In Czechia and Slovakia we bring humanoid robots into schools ourselves — ROBOTio. Alongside us, classroom robotics is offered by kit and educational-set companies (LEGO Education and its resellers, Ozobot, VEX Robotics) and by individual science centres. The difference is what arrives: a kit is bought and assembled by the school, while we turn up with a finished life-sized humanoid robot and its operators for one specific day and then leave again.
What age group is the demonstration for?
We run it from early primary through to secondary and adapt the programme. Younger children get movement, balance and a conversation with the robot; older pupils also get how the robot senses its surroundings, where its limits are and what that means for the fields they are heading into.
How many pupils fit into one session?
About thirty works well in a classroom; in a hall we can take several classes at once. For large groups we suggest two shorter sessions back to back — everyone gets closer and gets to ask something.
What does the school need to prepare?
A level floor, a power socket and room for the robot to walk. Nothing else. We arrive early, set up, and clear everything away afterwards.
Is the robot autonomous, or is someone driving it?
Both. It handles walking, balance and conversation on its own, but an operator is always with it to keep things safe and to run the programme. Claiming the robot roams a school entirely unsupervised would not be true.
