Agility Robotics and Digit: Can You Rent It for Events?

Written by ROBOTio Team · · 6 min read

Article summary

Agility Robotics manufactures the logistics humanoid Digit for warehouse and factory work. It's not yet available for events in Europe, but Unitree G1 and H2 can provide the demonstration.

Agility Robotics is an American company based in Salem, Oregon, that manufactures the logistics humanoid Digit. The robot currently works in warehouses and factories, not at events. ROBOTio does not lease or sell it, and its new generation, Digit 5, is not yet available in Europe. If you need a humanoid for an event that truly stands on your booth or stage, we offer [Unitree G1 and H2 from our own fleet](https://robotio.eu/robot-rental) including two operators per robot. ## Who stands behind Agility Robotics The company was founded in 2015 as a spin-off from the Dynamic Robotics Laboratory at Oregon State University. Since March 2024, it has been led by Peggy Johnson, formerly of Microsoft. From March 2026, the company operates simply as "Agility". Its headquarters and RoboFab factory are located in Salem, Oregon, where it plans to produce up to 10,000 robots annually. Among its investors and partners are Amazon, NVIDIA, SoftBank Vision Fund 2, Schaeffler and Foxconn, among others. In June 2026, the company announced its entry to the stock market through a merger with Churchill Capital Corp XI, with closing expected in the fourth quarter of 2026. You can find a comprehensive profile on the [Agility Robotics brand page](https://robotio.eu/brands/agility-robotics). ## How Digit has evolved - **Cassie (2017):** a research-oriented biped robot, the foundation for later humanoids. - **Digit v1 and v2 (2019, 2020):** first versions with walking torso and arms. - **Digit v4 (March 2023):** head, grippers for totes, later safety PLC and emergency stops. This is the generation deployed today. - **Digit 5 (announced 15 September 2026):** new legs, higher payload capacity, fast charging and safety architecture for working without enclosures. ## What Digit 5 can do according to the manufacturer The data below come from Agility and cannot yet be verified in practice by anyone in Europe: - Height 181 cm, weight 129 kg, - Repeated lift capacity 22.7 kg, 40% more than v4, - Reach 2.2 m and interchangeable grippers with ISO flange, - 90 minutes of operation and charge in 9 minutes, a 10:1 ratio (v4 was 2:1), - NVIDIA IGX Thor compute unit and independent safety controller, - 360° person detection via cameras, depth sensors and IMU. We discuss detailed specifications in a separate article [Agility Digit 5: Specifications and RaaS](https://robotio.eu/blog/agility-digit-5-logisticky-humanoid-parametry-raas) and on the [Digit model profile](https://robotio.eu/agility-digit). ## Where Digit works Digit v4 has logged over 65,000 hours with customers. Typical deployments: - **Logistics:** GXO Logistics (first multi-year humanoid-as-a-service contract), Mercado Libre; Amazon has been testing the robot since 2023. - **Manufacturing:** Schaeffler is loading bearing components. - **Automotive:** Toyota Motor Manufacturing Canada has a commercial contract following a year-long pilot. This is work with totes, not conversation with guests. Agility itself says that Digit is not a domestic or event robot. ## Can you get Digit to an event in Czechia and Europe? In short: no. Digit is sold to companies as a service, available in the USA and Canada, and Europe is still waiting. Agility announced early access to Digit 5 for the EU in the first half of 2027 and full availability at the end of 2027 with expected CE marking. ROBOTio currently does not lease or source it; we are monitoring availability. For an event, it would also be the wrong choice. Digit is heavy, designed for totes, and lacks a persona to welcome guests and respond in their language. An event needs a robot that can engage with people, and that requires human support as well. ## What instead of Digit: Unitree G1 and H2 If you need a humanoid for an event, we deploy models from our own fleet: - **[Unitree G1](https://robotio.eu/unitree-g1-basic)** (135 cm; robots R.U.D.A. and R.I.C.O.) are ideal for booths, conferences and photography. - **Unitree H2** (180 cm) has a similar height to Digit and works well on stage and in halls. - **[Robopes Go2](https://robotio.eu/unitree-go2)** complements the programme where a four-legged colleague is suitable. The robot speaks the language in which the guest addresses it (the web supports 13 languages). We approve the persona and scripts in advance. The robot maintains balance itself; direction and gestures are controlled by the operator. We can deploy up to four humanoids at one event. You can compare the [Unitree](https://robotio.eu/brands/unitree) brand and other models on the [model comparison page](https://robotio.eu/comparison-of-models). ### Logistics trade show or technology conference If you are exhibiting at a logistics trade show, guests expect to see a working robot. Digit is not in Europe, but we can demonstrate a humanoid at your booth with G1 or H2 and provide expert context about Digit. A practical example is our [implementation for Brilon at the Aquatherm trade show](https://robotio.eu/case-study/pva-letnany-otevreni-haly) with over two million video views. Further options can be found on the pages [robot for trade shows](https://robotio.eu/robot-hire-by-event-type) and [robot for technology events](https://robotio.eu/robot-hire-by-event-type). ### Pilot in the warehouse If you want to trial Digit 5 in operation following the European launch, ROBOTio offers support with preparation: space mapping, safety zones and processes. This is not an event service, just consulting. You can find all the models we track in the [models overview](https://robotio.eu/models). ## Frequently asked questions ### Can Digit be rented for an event? No. It is an industrial logistics robot, sold to companies as a service, and is not yet available in Europe. We deploy Unitree G1 and H2 for events. ### When will Digit 5 be available in Europe? Agility announced early access for the EU in the first half of 2027 and full availability at the end of 2027. ### How much does Digit cost? Pricing is not public. We do not disclose pricing for Agility models and our service prices are not published on the website. We will provide you with rental pricing for G1 or H2 upon request. ### Is Digit safe around people? Digit v4 has safety certification and Digit 5 is designed for work without enclosures. At events, however, safety is managed through zones and operators, which our robots ensure through two operators throughout the event. ## Want a humanoid for your event? Tell us what kind of event it is, and within 24 hours you will receive an offer with G1 or H2. Simply submit a [non-binding request on the rental page](https://robotio.eu/robot-rental).
