Article summary
Unitree Go2 is a quadruped robot dog from the ROBOTio fleet. We bring it with operators to your event. What can it do, what are its limits, and when is a humanoid G1 or H2 a better choice?
Unitree Go2 is a compact quadruped robot dog that ROBOTio rents for events from its own fleet. We bring it with operators and confirm the date in our quote. It works well where you have limited space, need quick deployment, and want to attract the attention of both adults and children. It is not suitable where the robot needs to hold conversations or perform on stage. In such cases, a humanoid is the better choice. ## What is Unitree Go2 Go2 is manufactured by Unitree, which also produces the humanoids in our fleet. Learn more about the manufacturer on the [Unitree brand](https://robotio.eu/brands/unitree) page. Go2 is a four-legged robot that moves similarly to a dog. It has 12 servos and a quad-core ARM processor. Key specifications from our profile: - **Dimensions when standing:** approx. 70 × 31 × 40 cm - **Weight with battery:** approx. 15 kg - **Movement speed:** 2.5–3.7 m/s, up to around 5 m/s - **Sensors:** 4D LiDAR L2 and HD camera - **Connectivity:** Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.2, optional 4G - **Construction:** aluminium alloy and high-strength plastic The body is small and lightweight. You can easily transport the robot in a car, and deployment on site takes just a few minutes. No complex installation is needed. ## What Go2 can do at an event Go2 excels at events primarily through its movement and appearance. According to its profile, it can: - stable walking even on challenging terrain, - dynamic running and agile movement, - environmental mapping using 4D LiDAR, - overcoming 3D obstacles, - following a person at its side (Intelligent Side-follow System ISS 2.0), - over-the-air (OTA) software updates. The robot responds to operator commands. Audio playback is possible by arrangement and depending on configuration. Note that Go2 does not hold conversations. Its strength lies in attracting attention and getting guests to stop and look. This aligns with what guests typically do at events with robots: take photos and share footage on social media. ## Battery life and space requirements Two practical facts you should know in advance: - **Battery life:** approximately 1–2 hours of active operation per charge, up to 4 hours depending on configuration. For longer events, we swap batteries or charge during programme breaks. - **Space:** a short demonstration requires just a few square metres of free space. We fine-tune the exact space according to your programme. Because the dog is small, it works well in foyers, exhibition stands and smaller indoor spaces. We plan the deployment so that active programme segments fit within the battery life. ## Which events are a good fit for Go2 Based on our profile, Go2 is well suited to the following types of events: - **Trade shows and exhibitions.** It will draw people to your stand. Read more on our [robot for trade shows](https://robotio.eu/robot-hire-by-event-type) page. - **Corporate events.** Conferences, team-building or parties gain a tech attraction. See [robot for corporate events](https://robotio.eu/robot-hire-by-event-type). - **Schools and STEM.** The robot dog is perfect for workshops and open house days. See [robot for schools](https://robotio.eu/robot-hire-by-event-type). - **Showrooms, retail and shopping centres.** It works well where you need to engage families with children. - **Museums, promotional events, TV and film.** It works as an interactive element, brand attraction or prop. - **Tech showcase.** For example, AI and robotics presentations or hackathons. Rentals can be for one day or several days. We arrange transport throughout Czechia. Outside Czechia, we also travel to Slovakia, other parts of Europe and the Gulf region, but international deployments require individual arrangement. ## Go2 or a humanoid? Go2 does not replace a humanoid. It is a different tool. **Choose Go2 when:** - you have limited space or a smaller stand, - you need quick and straightforward deployment, - you want a visual attraction for a broad audience including children, - logistics and simplicity are key factors. **Choose a humanoid when:** - the robot needs to engage guests and speak to them, - you want to assign it a role, such as a guide, moderator or guest on stage, - you are planning a show or performance. Our humanoids speak the language in which guests address them. Persona and responses are approved in advance. The robot maintains movement and balance on its own; the operator controls direction and gestures. We can deploy up to four humanoids at a single event. You can choose from the [Unitree G1](https://robotio.eu/unitree-g1-basic) at 135 cm tall or the larger H2 at 180 cm tall. An example of several humanoids on one stage can be seen in [PX Party 2026](https://robotio.eu/case-study/px-party-2026-tri-humanoidni-roboti). For a more detailed consideration of your options, see the article [How to choose a robot for your event: G1, H2 or Go2](https://robotio.eu/blog/jak-vybrat-robota-g1-h2-nebo-robopes-go2). A common combination: a humanoid in the main role and the smaller robot dog as a supporting attraction at the entrance or at a stand. Decide based on your event's objectives, not on which robot is larger. ## How the booking process works Rental includes operators, technical support and insurance. For standard events, a few days' notice is usually sufficient for booking. For non-standard requests, allow 1–2 weeks. We do not list prices on the website. We always prepare pricing on request based on event duration and type, and send a quote within 24 hours. An overview of our other robots can be found on the [models](https://robotio.eu/models) page. The robot dog's standalone profile is on the [ROBOpes](https://robotio.eu/robopes) page and the specific model is listed on [Unitree Go2](https://robotio.eu/unitree-go2). ## Frequently asked questions ### Is operator support included in the rental? Yes. The robot is operated by ROBOTio operators throughout the event. Guests do not need to handle the technology. ### How long does Go2 run for? Approximately 1–2 hours of active operation, up to 4 hours depending on configuration. At longer events, we swap batteries or charge during breaks. ### Is Go2 suitable for children and the general public? Yes, it is designed for all age groups and an operator is always present. The operator controls the robot and ensures children do not approach it unsupervised. ### Can Go2 speak to guests? No, it responds to operator commands. Audio playback is possible by arrangement and depending on configuration. For conversation, we recommend humanoid G1 or H2. ## Want a robot dog for your event?
