Tesla Optimus vs. humanoid robots for hire: G1 and H2

Article summary

Tesla Optimus is not available for hire from ROBOTio. We compare it with Unitree G1 and H2, which we provide for events with an operator, and advise on what to choose.

Tesla Optimus is a humanoid robot you cannot currently order for a corporate event: according to Tesla's information, it is not for sale to third parties, and ROBOTio neither hires nor sells it. If you want a humanoid for your event today, we offer [Unitree G1](https://robotio.eu/unitree-g1-basic) (135 cm) and Unitree H2 (180 cm) from our own fleet, always with operators. Below, you'll find what we know about Optimus, how it differs from robots available for hire, and what this means for planning your event. ## What is Tesla Optimus Optimus is a humanoid robot developed by [Tesla](https://robotio.eu/brands/tesla). Its specifications and availability are determined by the manufacturer and change over time. In our model overview on our website, we present data from the manufacturer, such as the Tesla FSD chip, over 40 actuators, a speed of around 2 m/s, and a declared runtime of "all day". These are manufacturer claims and declarations, not data we have verified on our own robot. What is important is what is not in the specifications: we do not list Optimus's height because Tesla determines it. Most importantly: Optimus is not in our offer, so it cannot be ordered as a service. ROBOTio provides information about it, but does not rate it and makes no promises about it. You can find a more detailed profile on the page [Tesla Optimus vs. humanoid robots for hire](https://robotio.eu/tesla-optimus). ## Comparison: Optimus, G1 and H2 for events | Parameter | Tesla Optimus | Unitree G1 | Unitree H2 | |---|---|---|---| | Height | not listed (manufacturer data) | 135 cm | 180 cm | | Availability | not in our offer, not yet for sale to third parties | available for hire with operator | available for hire with operator | | Use at events | cannot be ordered | smaller spaces, booths, presentations | stage, greeting guests, larger events | For event planning, the last row is crucial. A robot that cannot be secured cannot be the foundation of your programme, however impressive it may look in videos. ## Unitree G1: a compact robot for smaller spaces G1 measures 135 cm and is ideal for a booth, presentation, or a confined space where a robot of human height would take up too much room. According to our model overview, the [G1 Basic](https://robotio.eu/unitree-g1-basic) variant has 23 joint motors, an eight-core processor, a speed of 2 m/s, and a runtime of around two hours. The [G1 EDU](https://robotio.eu/unitree-g1-edu) version has 43 joint motors and an NVIDIA Jetson Orin module. In practice, this means G1 functions as an attention-grabber and host: it greets guests, addresses them in their language, and takes part in the programme. Our robots R.U.D.A. and R.I.C.O. are G1 units. You can see an example from a real event in our case study [PX Party 2026 with three humanoid robots on one stage](https://robotio.eu/case-study/px-party-2026-tri-humanoidni-roboti). ## Unitree H2: a human-height robot for the stage H2 measures 180 cm, roughly the height of an adult. It is suitable where the robot needs to be visible from a distance: on stage, when greeting guests at the entrance, or at a large event. We can deploy up to 4 humanoids at a single event, so you can mix sizes according to your programme. If you want something dynamic and four-legged, add our robot dog [Unitree Go2](https://robotio.eu/unitree-go2). It serves as a complement to the humanoids, not as a replacement. ## What this means for your event ### Don't plan around a robot that isn't available If the brief includes "we want Optimus", we recommend translating that into what the client actually wants to achieve: attention, photos, social media content, a memorable moment in the programme. This is something a humanoid that is actually present at the event can deliver. A video from the Brilon × Aquatherm trade fair at PVA Expo Letňany has over 2 million views, and details are in our [case study](https://robotio.eu/case-study/pva-letnany-otevreni-haly). What mattered was not the robot's brand, but that it was on site and interacting with people. ### A speaking and controlled robot, not just a display piece With our robots, the robot maintains balance and movement on its own; the operator controls direction and gestures. The robot speaks in the language the guest addresses it in (13 languages on our website). The persona and responses are approved in advance, so you know what the robot will say. There are two operators with each robot at all times. ### Typical deployments - [corporate events](https://robotio.eu/robot-hire-by-event-type), from greeting to entertainment in the programme, - [trade fairs and booths](https://robotio.eu/robot-hire-by-event-type), where the robot attracts visitors, - [technology events](https://robotio.eu/robot-hire-by-event-type), where robotics fits the theme well. ## Want a full performance? ROBOrevue If you don't want just a robot at a booth but a programme for the stage, there's ROBOrevue: a 5-minute show featuring three humanoid robots and three live dancers. It requires a stage or dedicated space of at least 12 × 6 m. The world premiere took place on 1 September 2026 in Paris, and the Czech premiere on 3 September 2026 in Brno. See how it looked in Paris in our [case study](https://robotio.eu/case-study/roborevue-svetova-premiera-pariz-2026). Want to compare more models than just these three? See our [humanoid robot comparison](https://robotio.eu/comparison-of-models). ## Frequently asked questions ### Can Tesla Optimus be hired?
