How to use a humanoid robot at a product launch: the unveiling, demo, Q&A and press photo calls. Practical scenarios, preparation and pitfalls to avoid.

A humanoid robot at a product presentation makes sense wherever you want to turn the unveiling into a memorable moment. The robot can pull off the cover, introduce the product, answer prepared questions and stand beside the product in front of the cameras of journalists and influencers. However, it only works when it has a clear script, approved lines and enough space. Below you will find specific scenarios, guidance on preparation and the places where mistakes are most often made. ## Why a robot works at a product launch A product launch is a short window in which you want to capture the attention of the media, your guests and social networks. A humanoid moves, greets people and responds to them, so visitors stop and take out their phones. A photo of a robot next to a product is shared more readily than a standard shot from the stage. Another advantage is consistency. The persona and lines are approved in advance, so the presentation conveys precisely your message. The robot speaks in the language in which a guest addresses it (the website supports 13 languages), which is useful at international launches. The robot maintains its own movement and balance, while an operator controls its direction and gestures. Each robot is accompanied by two ROBOTio operators throughout. That said, let us be candid: a robot is not a substitute for a product expert. It can handle prepared content, but not an arbitrary technical discussion beyond the script. You can find more details on this type of event on the page [robot for product presentations](https://robotio.eu/robot-hire-by-event-type). ## Scenarios: what a robot can do at a presentation ### 1. Ceremonial unveiling The robot removes the cover, walks over to the product and presents its main benefits in a few sentences. It is an ideal moment for the media and influencers. We rehearse the unveiling on site in advance, including the robot's path and the lighting. A similar format also suits a [launch party](https://robotio.eu/robot-hire-by-event-type) or the [introduction of a new service](https://robotio.eu/robot-hire-by-event-type). ### 2. Feature demonstration and Q&A The robot walks through the key features, demonstrates them on the product and answers questions prepared in advance. You can also include a comparison with competitors in the script, but have the wording approved by your legal counsel and product team. We will write and agree the lines together. ### 3. Dialogue with the host At a conference launch, a short exchange with the host works well. The robot introduces a segment, asks a question or hands over to a speaker. You can read more about this role in the article [robot as a conference co-host](https://robotio.eu/blog/robot-jako-spolumoderator-konference-humanoid) and on the page [robot for conferences](https://robotio.eu/robot-hire-by-event-type). ### 4. Photo call with the product for the media The official part is followed by a session for photographers. The operator manages the queue and keeps the area around the robot and the product safe. Related to this is [robot for photo shoots](https://robotio.eu/robot-hire-by-event-type). ### 5. Interactive demo for VIP guests A smaller group, a longer conversation, with the robot acting as a guide to the product. It combines well with a [brand presentation](https://robotio.eu/robot-hire-by-event-type). ### 6. The highlight of the evening: ROBOrevue If your launch includes an evening gala programme, you can add the five-minute ROBOrevue show: three humanoid robots and three live dancers. It requires a stage or an area of at least 12 × 6 m. The experience from the Czech premiere is described in [BEplan Brno 2026](https://robotio.eu/case-study/beplan-brno-2026-ceska-premiera-roborevue). ## What our projects show - **Sony at a product event in Porto:** the R.U.D.A. robot at a brand event, described in the [SONY case study](https://robotio.eu/case-study/sony-robot-ruda-produktovy-event-portx). - **T-Mobile T-Data & AI:** three humanoids in T-Mobile jerseys opened the programme with the ROBOrevue show, hosted segments on stage and took part in a panel discussion in Prague. See [T-Mobile in Bratislava and Prague](https://robotio.eu/case-study/tmobile-t-data-ai-2026-bratislava-praha). - **Podzimek 130 years:** the programme was built on more than 70 custom-recorded lines. It shows how much text is worth preparing; [more in the case study](https://robotio.eu/case-study/podzimek-130-let-trest-2026). - **Brilon × Aquatherm:** the video from the trade fair has over 2 million views, which is a good illustration of viral potential; see [PVA Letňany](https://robotio.eu/case-study/pva-letnany-otevreni-haly). ## How to prepare 1. **Define your goal.** Do you want footage for the media, leads, or a wow effect for your guests? We will build the script accordingly. 2. **Choose a model.** The Unitree G1 (135 cm) suits a smaller space and photo calls, while the taller Unitree H2 (180 cm) is visible from a distance in a hall or on a stage. The differences are summarised in the [overview of models](https://robotio.eu/models), with details on the [Unitree G1](https://robotio.eu/unitree-g1-basic) and in the [model comparison](https://robotio.eu/comparison-of-models). You can find out more about the manufacturer on the [Unitree Robotics brand page](https://robotio.eu/brands/unitree). 3. **Write the lines.** The persona and texts are approved in advance. Bear in mind that approval takes time, particularly with multiple languages. 4. **Secure the space.** A level, stable surface, a power socket nearby and access for the operator and transport cases. For ROBOrevue, at least 12 × 6 m. 5. **Arrange an on-site rehearsal.** Installation and rehearsal are included in the offer. An unveiling with a cover and a product needs to be walked through with the technical crew, lighting and sound. 6. **Plan breaks.** The programme is planned with battery changes in mind. A broader checklist can be found in the article [checklist before ordering a robot](https://robotio.eu/blog/kontrolni-seznam-objednavka-humanoidniho-robota-akce). ## What to watch out for - **Text that is too long.** The robot should catch attention, not give a lecture. Keep lines short and alternate them with movement. - **Noise in the venue.** Q&A works less well in a din, where guests struggle to hear the robot. Plan for a microphone or a quieter corner. - **Unsuitable surfaces.** Deep-pile carpets, cables or stairs do not help the robot. Please show us the space in advance. - **No buffer in the schedule.** A robot is live technology with operators, not a video player. Build a buffer into your timetable. - **Expectations based on other brands.** ROBOTio does not hire out [Tesla](https://robotio.eu/brands/tesla) Optimus or Atlas models; it only provides information about them. The alternative is the G1 or H2 from our fleet; see [Optimus vs. robots for hire](https://robotio.eu/tesla-optimus). ## Frequently asked questions ### Can the robot answer any question? No, you should rely on a prepared range of topics. The lines and persona are approved in advance, so the presentation remains consistent and under control. ### How much space does the robot need? For a standard presentation, we determine the space together with you according to the script. For the ROBOrevue show, the minimum is 12 × 6 m with a level, stable surface. ### Who operates the robot? Each robot is accompanied by two ROBOTio operators throughout the event. The robot maintains its own movement and balance, while the operator controls its direction and gestures. ### How many robots can I have at one event? Up to four humanoids. We will confirm the specific set-up for your date in the offer. ## Would you like a robot at your launch? Send us the date, venue and your idea of the programme via the enquiry form on the [robot hire](https://robotio.eu/robot-rental) page. The price is always provided on request, and you will receive an offer within 24 hours.
