How to use a humanoid robot at a marketing event: concrete scenarios from greeting guests to the ROBOrevue show, what to prepare in advance and what to watch out for.
A humanoid robot at a marketing event acts as a live magnet for attention: it stops passers-by, greets them, allows itself to be photographed and opens a conversation about the brand. It delivers greatest value when you have a prepared scenario in advance, a clear goal (contacts, shared content, brand recall) and dedicated operators who manage both safety and pace. This guide shows you how. ## Why humanoid robots work at marketing events In a saturated environment, it is hard to stand out. A robot that moves, greets and responds to people creates natural curiosity. Visitors pull out their phones and start asking questions, so the conversation about the brand emerges naturally. These benefits repeat consistently: - **Attention:** people stop and linger longer than they would at a traditional booth or screen. - **Consistent messaging:** the persona and dialogue are approved in advance, ensuring the robot maintains brand tone. - **Shareable content:** photos and videos with the robot spread organically on social media. A video from the Brilon × Aquatherm trade fair at PVA Expo Letňany has over 2 million views, see [case study from PVA Letňany](https://robotio.eu/case-study/pva-letnany-otevreni-haly). - **Contact capture:** the robot can direct people to a QR code, form or a booth appointment. For a broader overview, see the page [Humanoid Robots at Marketing Events](https://robotio.eu/robot-hire-by-event-type). ## Concrete deployment scenarios ### 1. Greeting guests and making a first impression The robot stands at the entrance, greets guests and answers basic questions. It speaks in whatever language the guest addresses it in (the system supports 13 languages). At an anniversary celebration in Třeští, the programme featured over 70 custom-recorded lines, see [Podzimek 130 Years](https://robotio.eu/case-study/podzimek-130-let-trest-2026). ### 2. Activation at a booth or trade fair The robot attracts passers-by, the operator engages them in conversation and directs them to a sales representative or QR code. For more options, see [Humanoid Robots at Trade Fairs](https://robotio.eu/robot-hire-by-event-type). ### 3. Product or service launch The robot can unveil a product, engage in dialogue with a moderator or hand over to a speaker. An example from the consumer electronics world is shown in the [SONY project](https://robotio.eu/case-study/sony-robot-ruda-produktovy-event-portx). ### 4. All-day "colleague" at an event The robot switches roles: greeting, hosting, taking photos with guests, presenting awards. At T-Mobile conferences on data and AI, three humanoids in branded attire greeted guests, hosted stage segments and participated in a panel discussion in Prague, see [T-Mobile T-Data & AI](https://robotio.eu/case-study/tmobile-t-data-ai-2026-bratislava-praha). ### 5. The highlight of the evening: ROBOrevue ROBOrevue is a 5-minute show featuring three humanoid robots and three live dancers. It requires a stage or dedicated space of at least 12 × 6 m. The Czechia premiere took place on 3 September 2026 in Brno, see [BEplan Brno 2026](https://robotio.eu/case-study/beplan-brno-2026-ceska-premiera-roborevue). ### 6. Influencers and social media If content is the goal, plan key photo spots and times when the robot will appear. Photos with the robot are typically the most popular part of an event and guests are keen to share them. ## Choosing the right robot We work with our own fleet of [Unitree](https://robotio.eu/brands/unitree) robots: - **Unitree G1 (135 cm):** compact, suitable for tighter booths, greeting and photo ops. See [G1 Basic](https://robotio.eu/unitree-g1-basic). - **Unitree H2 (180 cm):** adult height, visible from a distance in crowded halls and on stage. - **Unitree Go2:** popular with children and families, suitable for shopping centres and similar venues. See [Go2](https://robotio.eu/unitree-go2). We deploy up to four humanoids at a single event. We do not hire robots from other manufacturers, such as Tesla Optimus or Atlas, but we can provide information about them. Alternatives are the G1 or H2, see [comparison of Optimus with robots for hire](https://robotio.eu/tesla-optimus). ## What to prepare in advance 1. **Event goal.** Do you want contacts, views or prestige? The scenario is built accordingly. 2. **Scenario and persona.** Dialogue, tone and languages are approved in advance. The more detailed your brief, the better the conversation. 3. **Space.** Level and stable surface, nearby power outlet, access for the operator and transport crates. For ROBOrevue, at least 12 × 6 m. 4. **Schedule.** Plan the programme with breaks, for example for battery changes. 5. **On-site rehearsal.** This is included in our quote; use it to coordinate with sound and production teams. 6. **Branding.** Uniforms, signage or visuals can be aligned with your campaign. ## What to watch out for - **The robot is not autonomous.** It maintains its own movement and balance, but direction and gestures are controlled by the operator. Each robot has two operators throughout the event. - **Noise and crowds.** Conversation is difficult in a noisy hall. Arrange for a microphone or quieter zone. - **Safe distance.** A photo queue needs organisation, which the operator manages. - **Too many roles at once.** It is better to have a clear focus (greeting, photos, one stage appearance) than a long and fragmented programme. - **Measurement.** Decide in advance what you will track: QR code contacts, post reach, number of conversations. ## Frequently asked questions ### How much does a robot cost for a marketing event?
