How to Choose a Robot for Your Event: Unitree G1, H2 or Go2 Robot Dog

For most events where the robot is within easy reach of guests, the Unitree G1 (135 cm) is enough. The H2 (180 cm) pays off when the robot needs to be seen from a distance or from the back of a large hall. Add the Go2 robot dog where you want to attract children and families or bring more life to the space around the humanoid. Four things decide it: who is watching, from what distance, how much space there is and what the robot is meant to do. ## Start with the distance from which guests will see the robot The most common mistake is choosing by specifications rather than by the audience's point of view. All three robots are made by [Unitree Robotics](https://robotio.eu/brands/unitree), and all of them are part of our fleet. - **Up close (stand, entrance, photo opportunities):** the robot is right in front of guests and the G1 is perfectly sufficient. It is compact and fits even into a narrower stand. - **Larger hall, crowded pavilion, stage:** the [Unitree H2](https://robotio.eu/models), at 180 cm – the size of an adult – has the advantage. It is clearly visible even from afar and does not disappear behind guests' heads. - **Open space with a crowd around:** both height and movement matter. A humanoid of human height works as a landmark. A simple rule: the further guests stand from the robot, the more the H2 is worth it. ## When the Unitree G1 is enough The [Unitree G1](https://robotio.eu/unitree-g1-basic) (135 cm) is the right choice when the robot is in close contact with people: - welcoming guests at the entrance and taking photos with them, - a trade fair stand with limited space, - a shopping centre or pop-up space, - intimate corporate events and workshops. It also suits situations where the robot moves among people and should appear approachable rather than monumental. R.U.D.A. and R.I.C.O. are both G1 models. ## When the Unitree H2 is worth it Choose the H2 when the robot is meant to dominate the space: - **conferences and gala evenings** – opening performances, a dialogue with the host, product launches ([robot for conferences](https://robotio.eu/robot-hire-by-event-type)), - **large halls and trade fairs** – a crowded pavilion where the robot needs to "stand out", - **stage moments** – the robot as the main protagonist of the programme, - **photo opportunities** where guests want the robot at life size beside them. However, a height of 180 cm is not a cure-all. It is not suitable for a small stand, as it needs more space and a safe distance. If space is limited, stay with the G1. ## When to add the Go2 robot dog The [Go2 robot dog](https://robotio.eu/robopes) is not a replacement for the humanoid but a complement. It is a good fit when: - you are targeting children and families (family festivals, city celebrations, open days), - you want to bring movement and a second point of interest into the space, so that the crowd does not gather around a single robot, - the event takes place partly outdoors or in a shopping centre. The Go2 is four-legged, agile and playful. The humanoid greets and speaks, while the dog draws people in for photos and interaction. The persona and lines are approved in advance. - **Performing on stage:** the ROBOrevue show (5 minutes, three humanoid robots and three live dancers) requires a stage or area of at least 12 × 6 m. Technically, the following applies to all formats: a level and stable surface, a power socket nearby, and access for operators and transport cases. The robot maintains its own balance and movement, while an operator controls direction and gestures. For welcoming and photos, one is usually enough. More robots make sense on stage or in a large space, where they are meant to create a shared moment. We will confirm the specific composition for your date in the quotation. ### How do I know whether my hall is large enough for the H2? Send us the venue and its layout.
