Fourier: behind the brand and getting robots for your event

Article summary

Fourier is a Shanghai maker of rehabilitation robots and humanoids GR-1, GR-2, GR-3. You cannot hire them for events in Czechia or Europe. What to deploy instead?

Fourier is a Shanghai-based manufacturer that started with rehabilitation robots and today builds humanoids GR-1, GR-2, and the care-focused GR-3. However, you cannot hire these robots for corporate events in Czechia or Europe: ROBOTio does not hire or sell them, and official distribution and servicing in the EU are not yet confirmed. If you need a humanoid to greet guests at an event, engage with them in conversation, and run through a full programme, we offer Unitree G1 or H2 from our own fleet. ## Who stands behind the Fourier brand Fourier (Shanghai Fourier Intelligence) was founded in 2015 in Shanghai. Its original business was rehabilitation robots and exoskeletons. Today, its rehabilitation products are used by over 2,000 institutions in 40 countries. The founder and CEO is Gu Jie (Alex Gu). The company entered the humanoid market with the GR-1 model in 2023, added GR-2 in 2024, and the open model N1 in 2025. Investors include SoftBank Vision Fund 2, Prosperity7 (Saudi Aramco), IDG Capital, and Guoxin. The company has approximately 600 employees. An overview of the brand can be found on the [Fourier brand](https://robotio.eu/brands/fourier) page. For event organisers, it is important to understand where the manufacturer comes from. Fourier originates from healthcare and care, not from entertainment and presentations. Its robots are designed accordingly. ## What robots does Fourier make ### GR-1 and GR-2 GR-1 (2023) measures 165 cm, weighs 55 kg, and over 100 units have been delivered. GR-2 arrived in September 2024: 175 cm, 63 kg, 53 degrees of freedom, and FSA 2.0 actuators. It is aimed primarily at research and industry. ### GR-3 – care-focused humanoid The manufacturer presented GR-3 at the WAIC conference in July 2025 and launched it on 6 August 2025. Pre-orders began on 8 September 2025, with deliveries from around 2025. In January 2026, the US premiere followed at CES. According to the manufacturer's specifications, it has: - height of 165 cm and weight approximately 71 kg, - up to 55 degrees of freedom, - a soft padded exterior with 31 touch sensors on the head and torso, - a camera in the head with eye display and four microphones with voice localisation, - hot-swap batteries with runtime of approximately 3 hours. GR-3 responds to stroking or tapping and engages in conversation via language models. The GR-3C "Astronaut" variant adds a ring display and full-body teleoperation. Detailed specifications are summarised on the [Fourier GR-3](https://robotio.eu/fourier-gr-3) page. The primary use case is senior care: companion, medication reminders, supervision. Further applications include rehabilitation and hospitals (demonstration at the PERKESO rehabilitation centre in Malaysia in June 2026), education and research, or reception and tours in institutions. ## Can Fourier be hired for an event? No. Fourier sells to companies and institutions through distributors, primarily in China. In the EU, official distribution and a service network have not yet been confirmed. The manufacturer has not published a price; you need to arrange it directly with them or a distributor. For event hire, this has practical implications: - Without service in the EU, there is no guarantee that the robot will be repaired within a set timeframe if it malfunctions. - A humanoid at an event requires an experienced team familiar with its operation. At ROBOTio, each robot is accompanied by two operators throughout the event. - Personas and responses must be pre-approved and configured. For GR-3, support for specific languages depends on integration. We generally monitor and inform about models from other manufacturers. Our hire offer is based on robots we have in our fleet and can secure. An overview of the market can be found on the [humanoid robot models](https://robotio.eu/models) page. ## What to deploy instead of Fourier The role that GR-3 would play at an event – greeting, conversation, and photography – can be handled by Unitree G1 or H2 from our fleet. The robot speaks the language in which the guest addresses it (13 languages on our website). It maintains its own movement and balance; the operator controls direction and gestures. - **[Unitree G1](https://robotio.eu/unitree-g1-basic)** measures 135 cm. It is suitable for receptions, exhibition stands, photography, and conversations with guests. You know it here as R.U.D.A. and R.I.C.O. - **H2** measures 180 cm. It is visible from a greater distance, making it suitable for a stage or large hall. - At one event, we can deploy up to 4 humanoids. - The four-legged Unitree Go2 robot dog complements the programme where you want a different type of effect. The Unitree brand is presented on the [Unitree Robotics](https://robotio.eu/brands/unitree) page. In practice: three humanoids opened the leadership meeting at [TE Connectivity ALM Paris 2026](https://robotio.eu/case-study/te-connectivity-alm-paris-2026). This is an example of multi-robot deployment at a corporate event outside Czechia. ## Healthcare and social events The theme of care and touch, which inspired GR-3, appears at healthcare and social conferences or exhibitions of healthcare technology. For these events, we have a framework ready: MedTech Europe: we conduct the programme as a technology demonstration, not as entertainment. Details can be found on the [robot at healthcare conferences](https://robotio.eu/robot-hire-by-event-type) page. If you exhibit at a trade fair, a humanoid acts as a draw for your stand. A video from a trade fair (Brilon × Aquatherm, PVA Expo Letňany) has over 2 million views. More about this type of deployment is on the [robot at trade fairs](https://robotio.eu/robot-hire-by-event-type) page. ## Want GR-3 for a facility, not for an event? If you manage a healthcare or social facility and are considering purchasing GR-3, we will verify availability, servicing, and compliance with EU regulations for you. We will also arrange operator training. Robot purchases are handled on the [humanoid robot sales](https://robotio.eu/services/sales) page and training as part of [robot training](https://robotio.eu/services/training). We do not handle GR-3 imports ourselves, but we monitor availability in Europe. ## Frequently asked questions ### Do you hire Fourier robots? No. Fourier GR-3, GR-2, or GR-1 are not in our fleet. We deploy Unitree G1 and H2 for events. ### Is Fourier GR-3 available in Europe? It is sold to companies and institutions, primarily in China. Official distribution and servicing in the EU have not yet been confirmed. We are happy to verify the status for a specific project. ### Does GR-3 speak Czech? The robot uses language models, but language support in live operation depends on integration. Our robots at events speak 13 languages, including Czech. ### How much does a robot cost for an event? We do not publish prices on our website. Pricing is always based on a request via the enquiry form, and we send a quote within 24 hours. ## Non-binding enquiry Planning an event and want a humanoid with operators? Tell us what you have in mind, and we will send you a quote within 24 hours. You can start on the [humanoid robot hire](https://robotio.eu/robot-rental) page.
