Six R.U.D.A. appearances from guest welcome to evening awards: what the robot did at the Česká spořitelna Leasing event, what worked and key lessons.
At the Česká spořitelna Leasing corporate event, robot R.U.D.A. was not a one-off attraction tucked away in a corner of the hall. It made six appearances throughout the day, each with a different role: welcoming guests, opening the programme with a skit, leading a warm-up session, launching the team-building activity, serving as a station and presenting prizes in the evening. In doing so, it became the unifying thread of the entire day. Below, we summarise exactly what the robot did, what worked well and what organisers of similar events can take away. ## What the robot did at the event We have described this implementation in a [case study](https://robotio.eu/case-study/ceska-sporitelna-leasing-robot-ruda-firemni-akce). The programme included the following six appearances: - **Welcoming guests:** R.U.D.A. in a tie greeted arriving guests at reception with a prepared script. - **Opening sketch (10:00–10:05):** the robot launched the programme in the voice of Petr Vacka, as if it were him. Then the real Petr rushed in with an explanation that R.U.D.A. had stolen his tie and locked him in the toilets. - **Warm-up session:** squats, arm circles, standing on one leg and finally a robot somersault. - **Launching the team-building activity.** - **Team-building station:** teams imitated the robot's movements, recorded a short video and earned points for creativity and teamwork. - **Evening awards:** when presenting prizes for Merchant of the Year and Best of Robot, the robot handed bags to the winners. The robot thus appeared multiple times throughout the morning, afternoon and evening, creating a unifying theme for the entire programme. ## What worked ### Humour instead of a formal start We record scripts with the director or presenter in advance, and R.U.D.A. plays them back with a robotic voice filter. The Petr Vacka gag broke up the standard corporate opening. Instead of formal speeches, the event began with a moment that made guests laugh and put them at ease. ### Warm-up after a passive session After sitting through the morning programme in the hall, a brief movement break is welcome. The robot's somersault was a shot that participants filmed on their phones. Energy returned to the room. ### Robot as a station In the team-building activity, the robot became part of the challenge. Teams collaborated with it and competed on creativity. Original photos and videos were created that could be used in internal communications. ### Unconventional prize presentation When the robot presents bags and awards, it adds a modern touch to the ceremony. It's a moment that guests remember the day after. ## Content from a single day Full-day deployment is also interesting from a marketing perspective. From a single event, we typically deliver: - a 15–30 second reel for social media, - a 60–90 second cut for internal communications, - a photo gallery, - a LinkedIn post. We describe how to plan such content in our article on [content from robot events for social media](https://robotio.eu/blog/robot-na-akci-obsah-na-socialni-site). ## What to take away as an organiser 1. **Don't relegate the robot to a corner.** Several shorter appearances in different roles work better than one long performance. We always tailor the number of appearances to suit the client's dramaturgy. 2. **Start with a universal foundation.** Welcoming guests, a warm-up session, team-building and a ceremonial moment can all be coordinated with your event manager and dramaturg. Scripts, appearance count and sketches are all tailored to your needs. 3. **Prepare the space.** Dynamic elements such as somersaults require open space, at least 2×2 m with no guests in the immediate vicinity. Our operator checks the surrounding area before each such element. You can find more information in our article on [humanoid robot safety around guests](https://robotio.eu/blog/bezpecnost-humanoidniho-robota-mezi-hosty-operatori). 4. **Account for weight limits.** The robot can carry items weighing up to approximately 3 kg, such as bags, envelopes, diplomas or glasses. Heavier trophies are presented by a human partner together with the robot. 5. **Create a skit with a human partner.** A skit with the director, presenter or another colleague works best when the robot and the person complement each other. ## Where this works This model works wherever the programme runs from morning to evening. It's typically used for [corporate events](https://robotio.eu/robot-hire-by-event-type) and customer days. Have a look at our [robot for customer days](https://robotio.eu/robot-hire-by-event-type). We described a different format – the robot as a moderator's partner – in our [OneCore Business Breakfast in Bratislava](https://robotio.eu/case-study/onecore-business-breakfast-microsoft-bratislava). R.U.D.A. is a compact Unitree G1 humanoid standing 135 cm tall. You'll find technical specifications on the [Unitree G1 Basic](https://robotio.eu/unitree-g1-basic) page. For more information about the robot manufacturer, visit the [Unitree brand](https://robotio.eu/brands/unitree) page. One of our operators always accompanies the robot at events. Transport, scenario preparation and on-site testing are included in the package we prepare as part of our [robot rental service](https://robotio.eu/robot-rental). ## Frequently asked questions ### Can the robot present awards and bags?
